Proactive actions when a storm is approaching! | SERVPRO® of Wilson County

6/15/2020 (Permalink)

Here at SERVPRO of Wilson County, we are always the first call by our valued customers when a storm has affected their property. I know, no one wants to expect the worst. But when it comes to protecting our loved ones and largest assets being storm ready is neglected far too often. Here are a few tips to ensure your home or business is storm ready:

· Remove any potential flying hazard. Items that are left unsecured outside may pose a risk to you, your home, or someone else’s property. Secure these loose items to the ground when possible. Check your trees and their limbs to ensure good health and that they will weather the storm.

· Check all windows to your home to ensure that they are properly secured. Windows that are not shut and locked pose a risk of straight winds shattering them.

· Safely Unplug Electronics. Only turn on anything that is absolutely necessary. Remember that appliances that are turned off but remain plugged in may still be damaged.

· Locate the safest place in your home for your family and pets. This is generally a basement or a hallway bathroom with no exterior walls. Remain in this safe place until the storm warning has passed.

In our business our first concern is the safety of our valued customers, then the restoration of their property or place of business. Please do your part in remaining safe and storm ready, then call SERVPRO of Wilson County to handle the restoration of your greatest financial assets or place of work. We will make it "Like it never even happened."
