As we move through seasons of storms it is important to know what steps to take post storm. While there are plenty of things to know about how to protect yourself and your property post storm, we have complied the four most basic steps to follow.

The four most basic steps to follow after a storm:

  1. Make Safety Priority
  2. Document the damage sustained
  3. Tarp the roof or cover any openings into the house
  4. Seek help with Water Restoration

These four steps are simple, but could save you a lot of heartache as a homeowner. The most significant damage to homes post storm are caused by secondary damage, primarily due to not properly tarping or covering exposed portions of the house. By ensuring that those areas are covered you can drastically lower your chances of secondary damage.
