No one anticipates flooded property, but having knowledge when dealing with standing water in your Wilson County home can save time and money.
A flood doesn’t end once the storm stops. We still have to deal with all that standing water. The flood water can take up to 11 days to disappear.
If you have to evacuate your home, do not go back until you have been told it is safe.
Be careful when driving on roads that are covered with water in Wilson County. Remember to “Go around. Don’t Drown!” The water may still be too deep for safe travel.
Floods are not natural swimming pools

Flood waters vs. Animals in Wilson County
- Snakes and other animals may get into your house. Wear work boots and heavy gloves when you clean up
