Lebanon Warped Flooring from Water
The standing water from a broken coupling allowed sufficient pooling water to seep into the seams of the hardwood planks and create a warping effect. SERVPRO applied structural drying techs can remove the visible water quickly with pumping equipment. Suction mats can then be placed to increase a vacuum-type drawing of residual water molecules and moisture from the joints and underlying floor joists. Sometimes more than several weeks is needed to successfully restore the correct residual moisture content to the porous, cellulose floor. This final drying is critical to ensure that the restoration process will take hold. Moisture sensors and infrared cameras indicate the attained level of moisture; then completion documentation can be presented to both the homeowner and the insurance agent. The cupping edges of the planks can be lightly sanded, and the floor can be coated with a new varnish allowing the owner to state that it appeared "Like it never even happened."
