Encapsulation Resolves Moisture Problems in Old Hickory

The Before Photo depicts a still wet and muddy soil base and cinder block walls that are damp and dirty. Our SERVPRO skilled technicians first pumped out the standing water and then proceeded to scrape away and remove the water damaged wall insulation. We set up portable dehumidifiers, along with a ceiling suspended Santa Fe 2 unit, to capture most of the remaining moisture. The After Photo shows the Crawlguard liner that we attached to all the walls to mitigate outside moisture infiltration. Notice the precision around the water line. The piers, not visible, are also covered with this material. The vapor barrier covering the soil will help reduce ground moisture penetration which adds to the dampness and humidity of the crawlspace. We provide a permanent solution. Our SERVPRO of Wilson County team plans on installing a sump pump to deal with any groundwater flooding. Get the solution by calling (615) 449-5000.
